Truly Dog-Friendly

We’re proud to say we’re genuinely dog-friendly — not just dog tolerant! Your four-legged companions are welcome throughout our cottages, including upstairs and on the furniture.

We welcome multiple dogs, with generous limits depending on the cottage:

🐾 The Granary – up to 2 dogs

🐾 Greystones – up to 6 dogs

🐾 The Grange – up to 8 dogs

We provide throws for sofas and beds, so you and your dogs can enjoy cosy cuddles at the end of the day.

If your dog sleeps in the bed with you, that’s no problem at all — we just ask that you bring your own bedding and duvet. Please let us know in advance so we can prepare the appropriate mattress protectors for your stay.

We know dogs are part of the family — and we aim to make sure they feel as welcome and comfortable as you do.

We understand that during your stay, you may wish to visit places or enjoy a meal out without your dog(s).

Please note that we ask guests not to leave their dog(s) alone in the property unless they are crate trained and secured in a crate while unattended.

Alternatively, we’d be happy to recommend a trusted local dog-sitter who can come and care for your dog(s) while you’re out.

Please keep in mind that dogs can often feel more anxious in unfamiliar surroundings, which may lead to distress or destructive behaviour if left alone.

Everything Your Dog Needs for a Comfortable Stay

We go the extra mile to ensure your dogs feel just as welcome as you do. Our dog welcome pack includes:

🐾 Water bowl

🐾 Feeding mat

🐾 Dog towel

🐾 Dog poo bags

🐾 Handmade dog treats

We kindly ask that you use the throws provided for sofas and beds to help minimise hair and dander — every throw is washed between stays to maintain our 5-star cleaning standards.

After a muddy walk or a sandy beach day, you’ll find our outdoor warm-water dog shower especially handy. Please use the dog towels provided before letting your dogs back inside the cottage —your help keeps our cottages in tip-top shape for future guests.

Need a crate? We have two sizes available to borrow:

  • Small – L 76cm x W 45cm x H 50cm

  • Extra Large – L 104cm x W 67cm x H 65cm

You’ll also have plenty of enclosed outdoor space to enjoy:

  • Our ½-acre enclosed apple orchard is perfect for playing

  • We have a private woodland walk on-site

  • Greystones has it's own enclosed private garden

Dog waste bins are conveniently located in the courtyard and orchard parking area.

We don’t charge for dogs — instead we invite you to support animal welfare by making a donation in our PDSA collection box.

Enjoy the Outdoors with Your Dog at Town Farm

The fencing at Town Farm is indicated on our property layout, so you can make an informed choice on how freely your dog can run about, or remain on lead.

  • Our Orchard is stock fenced with a top rail at 1.1 - 1.2m (3ft 7'' to 4ft) minimum 1m (3ft 3'') at gates

  • Our ‘upper’ woodland, including the woodland walk, is stock fenced with a top wire at 0.8 - 0.9m (2ft 7'' to 3ft)

  • Greystones private garden is part hedged (with encapsulated fencing) and part fenced, the shortest fence is 1.2m (4ft) with a 0.3m (1ft) trellis on top raising the total height to 1.5m (5ft) so you can enjoy the view into our woodland.

You are welcome to use our enclosed orchard and 'upper' wood to exercise your dog, but please note:

  • Be conscious that others, including children, play there
  • Be aware of your dog, and keep gates closed

  • Place collected dog waste in the bins provided

  • Please do not leave your dog unsupervised

We have two German Short-haired Pointers (GSP's) who spend most of their days within our stock fenced woodland & orchard. If you would like sole use of any of our spaces during your stay, or any particular requests just let us know and we will endeavour to help accommodate your requirements.
